David's Major Contracts team is entrusted with developing complex solutions for major customers. The team contains experienced Enterprise Architects providing support on complex deals to ensure the right propositions are developed to meet customers’ needs both now and in the future.

David heads up a team of highly skilled Solution Leads focussing on the premier customers within BT’s Major Business sector. The sector includes major retailers, E&I, utility and technology companies, and represents the key focus for the growth of BT’s UK corporate ambitions.David and his team are entrusted with developing technical solutions to meet customers’ requirements through the major bid process. Key skills include negotiation of contract schedules, delivery programmes, service management, and the end to end design to meet business outcomes.David’s experience enables him to lead the team to deliver successful propositions for the customer and BT, and he personally presents at the CxO level. David managed a group of Solution architects, service designers and lead TDA responsible for UK and global major business, combined with a continued role as BT’s CTO for the Royal Mail Account. David and his team have designed, bid, and supported the delivery across a wide range of customers including; Anglo American, MOJ, Logica, Jaguar Land Rover, HMRC, Co-Op FIS and Britannia, NATO, Siemens, PEPSICo, Jumeirah Group, Greater Manchester Police, BAE Systems, Best Buy Europe, Etihad Airways, Unilever, Comet, Sainsbury, Deloitte, Renault, Norton Rose SOLVAY, Saint Gobain, Accenture, Tesco, Etihad, MARS, Hertz, KPMG.

David was responsible for a team of Solution Architects, service designers, and lead TDA working on major deals and in-life bespoke contracts primarily across the UK and EMEA. This represented a return to supporting customers both in a pre and post sales environment. David is not only responsible for managing the order book across his team, he also retains his focus asan Enterprise Solution Architect, with a specific CTO role supporting Royal Mail. David is personally responsible for the architecture of the BT provided Royal Mail solution covering voice, data, network security, hosted services and peering across 3,000 locations.

David's new position focussed on the pre-sales elements of design and architecture. As before David and his team were engaged on Bid activity for major blue chip companies primarily within the UK, and covering a range of business sectors from high street retail to government and Systems Integrators.Traditional enterprise network solutions formed the majority of David's focus, but increasingly security solutions, identity and mobility became the watchwords.David and his team consistently deliver the results for the business, and typically had solution responsibility for an order book in the region of £1.5Bn per annum.

During this time within BT David held multiple positions rising from a Senior Network Designer to a Design and Delivery Director focussing on major UK customers.As a Design and Delivery Director, David was in charge of a team of Solution Architects, Lead TDA, bring into service managers and commissioning desk resources responsible for designing and delivering Infrastructure Services, and creating Strategies for major blue chip organisations. David personally lead the design and delivery of the BT solution to transform the NatWest Bank network to support the branch transformation programme. In addition to NatWest, David has designed and lead the solution design and delivery for Royal Mail, DSG UK infrastructure,Pricewaterhouse Coopers European network, and worked with multiple Systems integrators including outsourcing Capgemini’s networking department to BT.As a unit over 12 years David's team worked with major corporate customers, developing strategies and delivering solutions and outsourced services for Barclays, NAG, CSC, Accenture, Atos Origin, and a number of government agencies. David was highly regarded within the specialist Major Deal team of BT during this period, and his personal knowledge of Networked IT, Outsourcing, Commercial, Finance and Government Services has generated major business for BT.David works across all levels within and outside BT, regularly meeting with CIO, CISO, and Chief Architects. David is recognised by his customers and colleagues as a trusted advisor.

London

David was responsible for the architecture of the NatWest Bank (NWB) retail branch data network supporting the high street banks and ATM network. David was initially recruited within a small networking division to develop a replacement WAN for the core data network supporting the NatWest branch network. Principal activity included detailed design, vendor selection, capacity planning, and deployment co-ordination.Following delivery of the upgrade David continued as the Retail Branch Network Architect for NatWest group, developing upgrades, expansions, and interconnectivity with other UK banking networks. Including strategic network plans to support the RBP (Retail Banking Platform)In 1995 NatWest outsourced the communications group (including WAN services) to BT. David became the lead technical owner of the contract relationship between NWB and BT.Ultimately David was recruited by BT, and his initial task was to build the replacement NatWest branch network.

David began work as a sponsored student developing test equipment for telco switching equipment, and by the time he left STC/Nortel he was leading a programme to develop a Nortel US Multiplexor for the European markets.Based primarily in New Southgate and later at the Harlow Technical Centre, David also spent time working in North Carolina at the Research Triangle Park developing links for STC with Nortel and BNR prior to Nortel's purchase of STC.
