It And Communications Officer.
CurrentThe EcoCentre is a retro fitted 1960s building, serving as an example of and promoting sustainable living; water harvesting, black/grey water treatment, solar hot water, solar lighting, solar heating, photovoltaic panels, recycling, organic gardening... I was hired to improve their computer equipment, systems and my ability to mentor/train staff, allowing the EcoCentre personal to expand its diversity and grow the business.• Replace the aging computer infrastructure with modern PCs, peripherals and software. Fix and upgrade the hardware and software as required.• Implement a LAN and secure wireless network. Upgrade the dialup to a broadband ADSL2+connection.• Document the administration/computer systems details.• Support, mentor and train employees, members and other users of the EcoCentre.• Integrate the “PayPal” payment donation/shopping system, “Google” maps and search facilities into the www.ecocentre.com site.• Produce and print the annual report in house. Significantly cutting costs and paper wastage, printing is now determined by demand. Compiling and mass emailing newsletters and publications.• Backup bookkeeping (MYOB) payroll, invoicing, banking duties.• Automate numerous Excel spreadsheets using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) for the EcoCentre and the City of Port Phillip (CoPP) Council, saving man hours, eliminating maintenance errors and standardising processes. I processed electricity usage by region, graphically showing average daily domestic usage seasonally, over the years, from large amounts of disparate data, supplied by Citipower and Alinta. Processed tide data from a vast number of reading taken in and outside of Port Phillip Bay, to determine if dredging has affected high tide levels. Produce the EcoCentre membership list from exported MYOB data.• Monitor the EcoCentre electricity, water usage and storage levels.• Respond to general public phone and walk in enquiries and conduct tours of the premises.
