As the Head of 2D at The Mill NY, I play a role in shaping the visual identity of projects. I work with a team of skilled artists, compositors, and 2D supervisors to create seamless and breathtaking visual effects. Collaborateing closely with clients, directors, and producers to ensure the highest level of quality and creative excellence in our work.• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the 2D department, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.• Manage a team of compositors, 2D supervisors, and other 2D artists, overseeing their professional development and performance.• Develop 2D strategies and approaches for each project, ensuring alignment with creative and technical objectives• Monitor the progress of 2D tasks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure project milestones are met.• Maintain the highest standards of visual quality in all 2D work, conducting reviews and providing feedback to artists as needed.• Implement and enforce best practices and workflows to optimize the efficiency and quality of the 2D pipeline.• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to keep the studio at the forefront of 2D innovation.• Collaborate with directors and producers to understand their creative vision and provide solutions to achieve it.• Act as a key point of contact for clients and participate in client meetings as necessary, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
