David has over 40 years' experience in international business as an attorney, corporate advisory, M&A, business strategy, Asian market expansion, licensing and change management.He is an entrepreneur having built several start ups in Australia, the USA, UK and Hong Kong and has advised companies throughout the world. David is also a lawyer with a background in IT and Intellectual Property protection. These are known as the Football NSW Grievance and Disciplinary Regulations (Regulations). The Regulations have replaced all aspects of grievance and disciplinary matters currently set out in the Football NSW By-Laws.Under these Regulations a new GPT (General Purposes Tribunal) has been created to hear major matters of dispute within the FNSW competitions, appeals from Association Appeals Committees and any other matter that FNSW considers important to the interests of football.From March 2013 I acted in the role of Deputy Chair of the FNSW GPT.From 1 March 2016 I have been appointed to Chair the FNSW GPT - the tribunal that oversees the regulation of behaviour of all professional football players in NSW together with jurisdiction over Club Officials, Spectators, Match Officials and any other Participant or Member of FNSW.In November 2023 I sat as the inaugural Chair of the Football NSW Gender Diversity Expert Panel. This Panel has been created to adjudicate on the eligibility of Transgender, Non-Binary and Gender Diverse Players in the Relevant Football NSW Competitions for the 2024 season.As part of this role I produce written judgments. This body of decisions is in the process of upload to AustLII including my decisions 2005-2009 for ESFA and FNSW from 2009 to date.Appeals from the GPT may be made to the FNSW Appeals Committee. -

He drafted new rules in the form of a Judiciary Manual and codified the penalties that should apply in standard cases.He trained new panel members and recruited independent sports lawyers to sit on the Judiciary.Between 2005 and 2008 he authored over 300 judgements dealing with misbehaviour by players, parents, coaches and officials. His blueprint for sports judiciaries has recently been the subject of a paper to be presented to the ANZ Sports Law Association.In 2016 all ESFA judgements were to be loaded onto AustLII, Australia's premier online Legal Information Retrieval System.

He has made presentations to several schools on melanoma awareness and best practice for sun awareness - a most important issue for teenagers particularly in Australia.The Melanoma Foundation was established as a charitable foundation of the University of Sydney in 1986. It arose from Australia's first melanoma clinic at Sydney Hospital and became the Foundation when the Sydney Melanoma Unit was transferred to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. At that time a major need to encourage early diagnosis of melanoma was obvious, so the Foundation took this need as its first area of endeavour. Very quickly its programs expanded to include raising community awareness of the damaging effects of sunlight, and a major clinical and biological research program. A close association has been maintained with the Sydney Melanoma Unit throughout the Foundation's development.
