Hello! I am passionate about sustainable energy solutions for our local and global communities, and about developing the people capability in our communities to innovate and support the technologies and systems that we will need to develop in a sustainable manner. Since December 2019 I've led the small but impactful Australian Power Institute, an industry-funded for-purpose organisation that was established in 2004 with a simple mission: to lead the development of the power sector workforce for our future.I'm a seasoned executive, leader and strategist and a Chartered engineer with a background in sustainable energy solutions for communities. I am Chartered in engineering leadership and management, and have been recognised as an Engineering Executive and Fellow of Engineers Australia.I've worked on projects around the world from Antarctica to the Arctic, including projects with the Australian Antarctic Division, Engineers Without Borders, and the UN Environment Program that focused on building capabilities in communities. Pivoting away from my technical engineering activities such as wind and hydrogen energy systems, I've worked in various roles in Engineers Australia - the national body for engineers - including the national strategy for engaging universities and graduates and General Manager for Engineers Australia in Tasmania. Working with a small and skilled local team, I led EA's efforts to support student, graduate and practicing engineers to connect to the profession and to continue their career development.
