David is the Co-operative Group’s Director of NOMA. He is responsible for NOMA, the 20 acre masterplan site in Manchester City Centre, which includes the Group’s existing estate of c1m sq ft and the surrounding landholdings which will accommodate a further 3m sq ft of future developments. The first phase of NOMA was the development of The Co-operative Group’s new 400,000 sq ft BREEAM Outstanding Head Office. David led the team responsible for the delivery of 1 Angel Square, which was completed in late 2012, and went on to sell the building in early 2013. Other developments David’s team have achieved include: the realignment and improvement to Manchester ring road, the first phase of public realm and services infrastructure improvements all to facilitate future phases. David and his team are now working on the next phases of NOMA which will include the development of a 178 bedroom hotel, the refurbishment of an existing listed building to 100,000 sq ft Grade A offices, a development of c400 residential units and phases 2 & 3 of new public realm.David was Director of Investment & Property Strategy at the Group prior to this where his team delivered average total returns of x% over a 10 year period.He joined the Group from Evans of Leeds, a property development and investment company, where he was a Director in charge of a Regional Property Portfolio.
