David runs his own consultancy company. He held senior Industry roles as a past Chair of the Committee for Professionalism & as Vice-Chair of the FXC at ACI – The Financial Markets Association. David also served as a past member of the Market Participants Group that was part of the BIS FXWG that was tasked with writing the FX Global Code (FXGC). From 2011 he took responsibility for the ACI’s Model Code, producing several re-writes to keep it up to date with market developments before it was retired in 2019 and replaced by the FXGC, for which the Model Code had acted as a template.Having worked for banks in the foreign exchange markets from 1977 to 2003, specialising in e-FX from 1998, David established his consultancy business. He then did a decade at FXall, leaving after the sale to Thomson Reuters to become Global Head of Sales and Business Development at Eurobase before returning to his consultancy specialising in Strategic Advisory, Regulatory Affairs, and e-FX; in addition to working as an Expert Witness in high profile FX cases. David produced some Further Guidance and Recommended Best Practices to augment current codes of conduct in OTC Wholesale Markets for ACI FMA, which will be published as the ACI FMA Handbook.
