I am the appointed competent Health & Safety person on the DHL site responsible for the Health Safety and Wellbeing of between 800 and 1800 managers and colleagues. I am also responsible for the reduction year on year of Lost Time incidents ( LTAs) and non Lost Time incidents. In the year to date we are running at an all time low record with no LTAs and Sherburn is leading the H&S performance KPIs of this and its sister sites. I am also responsible for maintaining Health and Safety legal compliance at the site and ensuring the site maintains compliance with the DHL Health & Safety Management System ( HSMS) and passes all internal and external audits including DHL Verification audits. As the H&S competent person on site I provide guidance and advice on all H&S Legal compliance issues which apart from written and verbal guidance requires me to write and produce in date, relevant and fit for purpose H&S Risk Assessments and SSOW. As a trained IIAI and IOSH Accident Investigator I am the lead investigator responsible for ensuring thorough and factual accident investigations are performed for all accidents/incidents and the development of managers required to undertake the investigations. I provide information and statistics and chair the Monthly Health & Safety Meetings held on site.
