In the third semester of the Communication Sciences program, a professor shared a life maxim that has inspired me to this day, almost two decades later: nobody encouraged you to study this, he said, or something like that. I continue with the paraphrase: you didn't enter one of those careers that all parents want their children to study. You entered here because it excites you. The day this career doesn't excite you, find something else to do.Those words echoed in every bone of my being. It was entirely my case. Neither my parents, nor my siblings, nor my friends, nor anyone had told me it was a good idea. In fact, I had to convince them. That was, perhaps, even before starting the Communication Sciences program, my first challenge as a communicator.For years, I had wanted to be a doctor, one of the good ones, like dad. I had two friends with whom, since the beginning of high school, we talked about how the three of us would study at the same university, in the same faculty, the same career: Medicine. But I discovered communications, and everything changed.The father of one of my best friends - perhaps the best one - tried to dissuade me in a long conversation: had I become blunt? I think I never convinced him that, no, I hadn't become blunt. What I wanted, bluntly, was to be a communicator. But whatever. My parents took a chance, and I won. I'm a communicator.
