Recruitment SpecialistBny Mellon Jan 2011 - Dec 2011New York, Ny, UsBNY Mellon is a global investments company dedicated to helping its clients manage and service their financial assets throughout the investment lifecycle. Whether providing financial services for institutions, corporations or individual investors, BNY Mellon delivers informed investment management and investment services in 35 countries and more than 100 markets. As of Dec. 31, 2014, BNY Mellon had $28.5 trillion in assets under custody and/or administration, and $1.7 trillion in assets under management. During this period I was the sole Recruitment Specialist for BNY Mellon in Edinburgh, which at the time was going through a period significant growth and change. I was responsible for the full end to end recruitment service for Edinburgh operations and then latterly support for Germany. The primary purpose of my twelve month FTC was to support and deliver on two major projects. The first was the migration of a significant operation from Brentwood to Edinburgh and the second being a new client that required a dedicated team. Both projects had dedicated Project Managers who were responsible for the overall delivery on time and to budget, however it was my responsibility to ensure that the business had sufficient resource to allow BNY Mellon to fulfil their client obligations.I reported into both the EMEA Director of Talent Acquisition and Regional Lead HRBP and in addition to the two main projects I was also responsible for all Business As Usual (temporary and permanent) recruitment across two divisions; Transfer Agency and Fund Accounting. Over and above standard recruiting responsibilities I was fortunate to get involved in several other value added projects and initiatives including an entry level (school leavers) rotation programme as well as recruitment systems and competency based interview training for hiring managers amongst other things.I thoroughly enjoyed my time at BNY Mellon, an excellent place to work.http://www.bnymellon.com/careers/ -
Senior Recruitment ConsultantHays Oct 2007 - Jan 2011London, England, GbI Joined Hays as a Trainee Recruitment Consultant within the Construction and Property division in Glasgow, specialising in freelance and interim civil/structural engineering appointments. I developed my section and was rewarded with promotion to Recruitment Consultant. I was asked to move section internally to focus on Property and Surveying appointments, which again I worked hard to develop and as a result of the success I had, I was promoted to Senior Consultant. Throughout the first six months in 2010, I was one of two consultants out of 160 at the time in Scotland to be awarded for outstanding performance. This was based on KPI’s delivered, excellent client feedback and fees generated from recruitment with the reward being lunch in London with the CEO.I left Hays at the end of 2010, however before doing so I spent five months with Hays Senior Finance, predominantly recruiting for major Banking clients. I left on good terms with Hays placing me into my role with Bank of New York Mellon. Due to the financial crisis of 2008 onwards, this was a hugely challenging time to be involved in recruitment, especially within the Construction industry. I gained invaluable skills at this time and a strong work ethic and I am proud to have been a success.
