Team Leader of an Armed Protection Team providing protective services to clients from a number of government departments and international organisations.

Team Leader on a PSD team responsible for the safe transit of Oil & Gas contractors around the Rumaila Oilfield.

Protective Security Detail Team Member involved in all aspects of the conduct of client movements between locations. Main role was as the PPO responsible for delivering safety brief to up to three clients and then ensuring their personal protection at all times in and out of the vehicle. Occasionally assisted the Convoy Escort Team in the safe escorting of fuel tankers between locations.Regularly carried out duties as watch-keeper maintaining the communications between the operations room and teams on task.Involved in the planning and conduct of team, client and local national employee training.Provided leave cover for Operations Manager and Military Liaison Officer.

Platoon sergeant responsible for the administration of a Platoon of between 20 and 30 men in and out of barracks. In this time deployed on a joint exercise with the French army at Cenzub urban training complex in France, was Platoon Commander for this exercise and the Platoon became extremely proficient in the skills required in an urban environment in particular room/building clearance and casualty evacuation.

A Corporal in command of a section of 7 men, leading them in the field on various exercises including Kenya and jungle training in Belize. Deployed to Afghanistan initially as a team commander and then as a multiple commander leading 12 men, and occasional attachments, on numerous foot and vehicle patrols often having to deal with incidents such as contacts, IEDs etc. Spent two years at the Infantry Training Centre and was responsible for training recruits for service in the Infantry. Attended the Platoon Sergeants Battle Course and LFTT in 2011.

A Lance Corporal responsible for the administration of a section of 8 men but also for commanding half the section and sometimes the whole section at times when the commander could not.

Served in Northern Ireland during this time and also deployed to the Falkland Islands for four months where I completed a Potential Junior Non-Commissioned Officer cadre to gain qualification to become a Lance Corporal.

Employed as a security officer at Fountain Park entertainment complex in Edinburgh city centre gaining experience in site security, conducting foot patrols, operating CCTV, engaging with the public and dealing with situations as required. Received Fire Fighting training, Physical Intervention training and IOSH Working Safely training.

Completed Infantry training then joined the Kings Own Scottish Borderers in Cyprus. Took part in exercises in Jordan and Canada and deployed on operational tours of South Armagh and Iraq mainly driving an Armoured Reconnaissance vehicle but also spending some time in Baghdad escorting civilian contractors and dignitaries between the airport and the British Embassy.
