Del. David Reid has represented the eastern portion of Loudoun County (Ashburn, Broadlands, Sterling, and Algonkian) in the Virginia General Assembly since 2017.He currently serves on the House Appropriations Committee, the Privileges & Elections Committee, and as the Vice Chair of the Transportation Committee. He also serves as the Co-Chair of the General Assembly Military & Veterans Caucus, is a member of the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission (NVTC), and represents Virginia on the Transportation Planning Board (TPB).David has over 34-years experience in the NoVA business community where he served as an intelligence professional and strategic executive analyzing complex problems, establishing the strategic direction for key initiatives, managing teams, and delivering increased revenue and profit.He served 23-years in the US Navy Reserve where he retired as a Commander (O-5). While in the Navy, CDR Reid provided strategic planning and intelligence support to the Defense HUMINT Management Office (DHMO); the NRO-based Space & Naval Warfare Command (SPAWAR); the Fleet Information Warfare Command (FIWC); and the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI). While in the Navy, CDR Reid was awarded the prestigious Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal on three occasions and made deployments to South Korea and Iceland.David holds a B.A. in Political Science from Northeastern Oklahoma State University (NSU), a Master’s Diploma in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College (JMIC), and conducted graduate studies in Latin American Relations at the American University.
