In the summer of 2015, I worked as a Material Planner at Kautex (Textron) in Avilla, Indiana. Through this internship, I was held accountable for optimization efforts and assisting both customer and supplier support in material planning. I had full responsibility of planning a Toyota Production line, which entailed planning for 5 variations of fuel tanks for 2 separate models. My summer long project included creating a standardized instructional manual for the entire material planning department. This manual focused around the MRP and Trans4M System, which is utilized during supplier and customer communication. The manual enables individuals who are not familiar with the system to be able to navigate and perform day to day activities, while also providing insight to gain a stronger understanding of the system. For individuals who are familiar with the system, the manual can be used to navigate with more precision and clarity.Following the conclusion of my internship, I was offered a full-time position upon my graduation in the spring.
