At BNSF, I was recruited to oversee completion of the federal mandate for Positive Train Control (PTC) Implementation through a cross-functional team and project leadership. I designed and developed a Load Test Harness desktop application which allowed several of the PTC services to be tested, under high load, for defects and performance issues. The application was developed using C#, WPF and Akka.NET. The application allowed us to provide varying levels of traffic, based on the service under load. Using the harness we were able to find more defects and performance bottlenecks that led to the designing of a microservice architecture file transfer system using a cluster of servers instead of a monolithic service. This new service was developed using C# and Akka.NET.I guided all aspects of the file transfer system from program implementation, through design, development, integration, and execution while coordinating with third party consultants and providers. Agile methodologies as well as automated testing were introduced to the development engineering teams to increase productivity and product stability during the development process. The File Transfer Service launched replacing the legacy service and effectively improved file transfer performance across 27,000 locomotives by 300%. The new architecture provides a highly available, distributed system that transfers 3,000 files per minute. The service itself was implemented with C# and Akka.NET and is hosted on servers running cloud technologies from Microsoft and IBM. The desktop application interface was created using a mix of legacy Windows Forms and WPF. Database backend provided by SQL Server utilizing Entity Framework and LINQ queries in all data layers.

I collaborated and coordinated with clients regarding requirements, business objectives, and end-user training. My team developed 20+ slot style video games yearly, providing game logic and communication with a server backend. I designed, managed and developed a flexible game engine capable of accommodating diverse game applications utilizing the same back-end core. The engine allowed us to reduce development costs by 40%, and further reduce end product testing due to standardized code. The company was able to increase their production by 100%, resulting in a competitive edge and an increased profit margin. The client interface was built to allow dynamic loading and unloading of each game, and was later converted to run under embedded systems to provide an expanded list of system hardware.

I managed .NET development for internal back office systems on behalf of Union for Reform Judaism. I planned and orchestrated internal back office system and client interface development across a variety of business functions, leveraging .NET Winforms and ASP.NET. I designed and developed a contact management system for internal use, furthering centralization for contact information from several disparate legacy systems, increasing productivity by 60%. I also created multiple registration sites for events capable of handling thousands of requests per day and accepting tens of thousands of credit card transactions, utilizing ASP.NET and .NET back-end services.

I worked on a sandbox game development team as a .NET developer using C # (C Sharp). I designed and implemented both the client and the server backend, building a custom messaging protocol for communication between them over TCP/IP. The client was developed using DirectX for sprite based 2D graphics, and the databases were all hosted in Microsoft SQL Server.
