Lead a team of UI engineers working on the Now Design System. The design system is a key part of ServiceNow's UI re-platforming strategy aimed at creating modern web app experiences that our customers use to get work done. Our components are used by internal engineering teams to build features, customer engineering teams to create workflows on the Now Platform, and customer admins using a WYSIWYG tool to build new apps with little code. I work with my team to maintain a clear vision of the design system's technical architecture so we can scale up our component library with the minimum maintenance overhead possible. I promote clear and consistent API design to ensure our components can be effectively consumed by developers and low-code tools.As engineering manager I coordinate with product to define the backlog, and with engineering and design to plan stories from requirements to design to implementation. I work with my team to make sure everyone understands our goals for each release, and to help push forward stories that are unclear or blocked. And I get into the code myself to ship features when we need to deliver.

Led a design and development team to create Homebase, a web application that allows users to search and apply for home repair permits online. Led user research and managed project deliverables.Trained City of San Antonio employees in agile project management, lean process improvement, and user-centered software design. Advised city on open data and transparency efforts.

Led digital projects for consolidated design studio serving major American media properties across the Midwest. Created innovative iPad magazines for highly-engaged sports fans with The Indianapolis Star and Louisville Courier-Journal. Implemented new publication workflows to help designers, editors, photographers and reporters working across multiple states produce high-quality digital magazines.
