About David Leonard

I’m an expert in planning and building design systems to help companies scale their products. I’m currently helping ServiceNow build a new design system used by our internal engineers and customers. Our system enables consistency and rapid growth as teams build new features on a platform that generates $2.8b in yearly revenue. My skills are a mix of leading and executing. I focus on product direction and customer success, traveling to meet with engineering teams across the world to make sure our system supports their needs. I lead engineering strategy for my team, bringing developer feedback home and using it to ensure we deliver the right APIs at the right time in the release cycle. And I get my hands dirty writing code, pulling on my deep experience in JavaScript, HTML/CSS and web application architecture.Previously I helped GE build and scale a design system used by 40,000 engineers inside and outside the company. And before that, I created human friendly interfaces to massive government programs like land use permitting at Code for America. I like working on really, really complex problems.
