My background as an outcome-focused litigation professional with board level management experience and professional expertise in managing high value and complex commercial litigation makes me an experienced and versatile advisor. I have proven proficiency in creating solutions to disputes in arenas as varied as life sciences, M&A, intellectual property, insurance, banking, insolvency, environmental, shareholders’ agreements, and partnership while developing and implementing projects to increase client base, client retention, organisational profit and reputation.I believe in the importance of establishing strong relationships between clients and advisors to reach innovative and creative business solutions to disputes, such as grouping together businesses that had been mis-sold financial products in order to apply for a judicial review, resulting in positive press coverage that generated political support for change, as well as the resolution of underlying business issues and positive outcomes for individual businesses.I recently concluded a £6m restructure for Hambleside Group of Companies: I am an engaging leader who empowers teams with energy and focus to deliver transformational change and achieve outstanding results.I am now a partner at Moot Hill Limited, an innovative dispute resolution business that works with in house lawyers in business and local government to achieve the early commercial settlement of intractable legal and other challenges using mediation and structured negotiation, underpinned by first class investigative assets. DirectorHambleside Danelaw Jan 2015 - PresentDaventryFrom 2005 I was a non-executive director providing ad-hoc legal guidance and board input at this group of companies with £14m t/o. In 2014, I became full time to coordinate the lifecycle of a c£6m project to centralise the company’s manufacturing capacity, including overseeing site preparation and construction, bringing a new 30k square foot building into production, procuring precision production machinery, training and recruiting staff, as well as closing an existing factory site in Scotland. I not only managed the legal aspects, such as applying for licenses and permissions, negotiating lease agreements and supply contracts for machinery and raw materials, I also co-ordinated the sale of factory premises and equipment, developed and managed the redundancy process for affected employees and successfully coordinated the whole project lifecycle ensuring the new custom made building was operational within timescales without impact on other factory production.Other notable work for the group included advising a listed West African printing enterprise facing cash flow constraints and negotiating with its suppliers and lobbying the UK government in connection with tariffs imposed on raw materials.
