Senior Merchandise Planning Resource for key apparel business units.

Created the Merchandise Planning function for the Multi-Billion dollar General Merchandise business. Responsibilities included development of merchandise planning processes, integration of those processes within Merchant and Finance activity streams, report development, merchandising systems development, recruiting and team building.

Reported to the Chief Financial Officer. Lead Merchandise Planning and Finance Resource for the Multi-Billion dollar Apparel business with full accountability for operating performance and financial strategy. In partnership with the Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Apparel, created and implemented the strategic and operating plans that delivered profitable and asset efficient sales and market share growth. Led a team of fifteen planners and three business solutions managers. Sat on the total finance leadership team and the merchandising leadership team. Identified opportunities to improve process and systems leveraging best in class external and Walmart International benchmarks and implemented standardized solutions across multiple business units.

Reported to the Vice President of Planning and Allocation. Responsible for planning and forecasting sales and financial profitability, analysis of trends and management of inventory levels of a variety of business complexes including Accessories, Footwear, Women’s Apparel and Children’s Wear ranging in sales volume from $400 to $750 million. Primary business partnership with the Senior Vice President of Merchandising with whom the strategic direction of the business complex was developed. Led a team of five to six planning managers. Guided the planning managers in the effective leadership, coaching and development of a team of twenty-five associates.

Managed a group of five managers and twenty associates and Collaborated with four General Merchandise Managers to develop and execute financial plans and forecasts to ensure the profit objectives of the $500 million Women’s Fashion Group were met.

Held a wide variety of Merchandise Planning and Inventory Management roles. In addition, I also held roles in In-Store Marketing, Merchandise Procurement and Store Operations.
