In this position I investigated whether the ability to remain focused and sustain attention over time is preserved in healthy aging. By comparing the performance of younger and older adults in various monitoring tasks (searching for target words amongst streams of distracter words), we were able to demonstrate that, contrary to many current theories, older.

My primary responsibilities included the conception and implementation of original experiments on the topics of sustained attention and human-system interactions. This involves the programming of computer-based laboratory and online tasks, the analysis of the obtained data, and the publication of the findings in peer-reviewed journals.

My Doctoral Dissertation examined the nature of the memory representations that result from simple perceptual interactions with the environment.
