I'm super excited to now be working for eHealth Queensland. I'm now part of a large program of work providing new and upgraded hospital and health services throughout regional Queensland.A huge thanks also to the fantastic people I met at the City of Gold Coast in my 12 years as a Solution Lead. I've been working in the ICT industry for over 25 year now. Until I came to the City of Gold Coast, I had never met and worked with a group of people who were so committed to serving their community and their City.With my next move, it's going to be great to deliver ICT services and solutions that support and empower front-line health staff, taking care of those across regional Queensland in their times of need.

Gold Coast

The City of Gold Coast is the second largest local Council in Australia, with over 3000 employees providing a broad range of services to the public. These services are underpinned by a large and diverse base of IT systems. The City employs a number of methodologies to deliver and manage these systems, including ITIL, PRINCE2 and Agile among others.My role as a Solution Architect is to lead the architecture, build, deployment and transition to support of either new services, or major upgrades to existing services. Responsibilities include:● Stakeholder management across a variety of technical and business stakeholders.● Management and understanding of technical specialists across many areas including software development, cloud technologies, networking, geospatial, database and data, interfaces, integrations, telemetry, authentication, cyber security, mobile devices, public facing web systems, audio visual and telephony.● Involvement in the entire end-to-end delivery cycle, including non-functional requirements, tender documentation, evaluation and procurement, high level design, system build and testing, detailed level design, documented support responsibilities and processes, change and release management including CAB, cutover management, transition to support, hypercare, decommissioning, project closure.Key Achievements include:● Successful transition of multiple systems from on-prem to the City's cloud infrastructure.● Consolidation of database infrastructure resulting in the savings of $300K per year in license costs.● Technology review and uplift of the City's main coordination centre for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.● Recent delivery of a major upgrade to a waste management system, with the business stating "that was the smoothest go-live we've ever had"● Completion of the delivery of the upgrade and stabilisation of one of the City's main billing platforms. This provides the City with approx. 1/3 of its income ($500MIL p.a.)

Hi-Tech Inspect provides asset condition survey services for public housing bodies across Australia. The company began on a small scale run from a bedroom, and experienced rapid growth culminating in a central Sydney office, multi-million dollar contracts, with many field staff operating on multiple projects across multiple states.My role as the Manager of IT Projects and Software Development enabled the company to realise and maintain rapid growth by creating leading-edge technology enablers for data collection, processing, auditing, accounting, and reporting, working with short lead times and unclear requirements.Key Achievements include:● In 6 weeks reverse engineered a project-critical application resulting in the successful continuation of a major multi-million dollar project● Built and managed an IT team providing software development, testing, field support, and infrastructure management servicing over 120 field staff simultaneously across NSW and WA● Implemented ITIL / ITSM processes as well and SCRUM and other project methodologies, providing IT change management and rapid application development, resulting in quantifiable business and financial benefits.● Architected and project managed the redevelopment of the entire end-to-end data collection system with a successful delivery on the target completion day, with immediate and successful deployment into production

Dell as a highly sales focused organisation created customer value by driving down costs of commoditized products. This was achieved by refining their manufacturing and sales processes.My responsibility as a ‘Systems Consultant’ was to manage the sale of servers and storage to a targeted client base. My KPI was a sales target requiring customer relationship management and daily funnel management. I acted as an Account Manager for Enterprise Systems driving sales opportunities to closure as well as working with strategic partners on joint sales opportunities.Key Achievements include:● Architected server and storage solutions in excess of $1M per major solution● Achieved at or over 100% for all quarters with a $5M per-quarter target

ManageSoft created a new flagship product providing Enterprise Software Management. The product suite was promoted and sold in Australia, Europe, UK and the US. Leading customers included ANZ Bank and Walmart.My role focused on Pre-sales and Implementation for a diverse client base across customers ranging from 200 to 25,000 users. I also performed customer support and product prototyping.Key Pre-Sales Achievements include:● Pioneered the presentation and sale of the newly developed product suite● Performed presentations up to CIO level resulting in successful sales● Conducted live POCs on up to 3000 devices resulting in successful salesKey Implementation Achievements include:● Centralised desktop management for a company with over 4000 devices with initial cost savings of over $150,000.- in license renewals● Produced a software inventory report for a large government department with over 3000 devices across a network with little centralised desktop control.
