Developing the Reality Check (SM) application that helps consumers get information on car values; app includes features for configuring options and choosing from available rebates; attractive graphical UI w/animated transitions.Application was developed in Flex 4 using Adobe Flash Builder with a .NET back-end using software development best practices including an MVC framework and unit testing.

Web software development including solutions allowing customers to view customized maps on the web (Custom View Maps), trip routing software, and educational software (Rand Mc Nally Classroom). Design and development of consumer map viewing software using object-oriented techniques. Participated in all phases of the software development including design, coding, testing, documentation and support. The consumer map viewing application made use of typically about 40 layers of data formatted with complex styles, implemented in software, for flexibility in application by cartographers. Application features included the usual viewing functions of zooming and panning and querying on map features as well as additional functions: geocoding, spatial queries, simple drawing functions, point of interest lookup, GPS location tracking, and a map style editor.Developed an API enabling third-party developers to quickly develop mapping applications using our core viewing software with Thomas Bros. data.Developed software for several modules used for in-house map publishing software. Design and development of civil engineering design/drafting software (VANGO). Implemented the industry's most sophisticated coordinate geometry system (2D), used by drafters and engineers for the design and mapping of roads and subdivisions. COGO system contains 100+ commands for performing geometric constructions. Included in the system are commands for annotating drawings with associative dimensions, static text, and engineering symbology. Design & coding of roadway profile and cross-section design software (2D). Proficient in VAX BASIC, Visual Basic, and C/C++ languages; VMS and Windows (3.1, '95 and NT) operating systems.; Design & coding of an object-oriented 3D surface modeling program for use by civil engineers in creating grading plans for subdivision development. Surface modeling graphics are implemented as a layered product on AutoCAD using Autodesk's ADS C-language API. Dialog boxes and data structures implemented using Visual C++ 5.0 and MFC.Wrote user manual and on-line help files. Provided telephone support for 100 client firms nationwide.
