David Saranga is a career diplomat who serves as Senior Foreign Affairs Advisor to the President of Israel. Prior to his current position Saranga served as the Head of European Parliament Liaison Department at the Mission of Israel to the EU in Brussels. in 2009 he ended a four year-term as The Consul for Media and Public Affairs at the Consulate of Israel in New York. In this capacity he was responsible for Israel's image in the United States and was the main Israeli contact person for national American media outlets based in New York. A key element of Saranga's tenure was the development and implementation of comprehensive New Media and Social Media initiatives in the field of public diplomacy. He successfully launched numerous programs in this arena which were widely covered in the American and international media and helped steer the course of Israel's public image during Saranga's posting. As a result, he has emerged as a leading figure in the nascent diplomacy and social media arena. Saranga's policy methods are anchored around a clutch of core principles: Social Media, conventional media, marketing and public relations.
