The Rainier Beach FID is envisioned to be an economic generator for the neighborhood that will provide a full range of employment and business development opportunities for Rainier Beach residents.The concept of the RB FID clusters manufacturing, technology, and food sectors around the light rail station to provide access to career-path living-wage jobs, strengthening the local economy through production rather than consumption. In addition, the RB FID will leverage transit to support community stability and economic mobility, improve access to education, employment and entrepreneurship, while maximizing the use of this unique station location at the intersection of the manufacturing / industrial area that extends to South King County, and the residential neighborhood of Rainier Beach.

RBAC is a place-based, Black-led non-profit rooted in stewarding the Neighborhood Plan. RBAC has had a historical presence in Rainier Beach for nearly 2 decades through signature events, like the Back2School Bash and quarterly Town Halls, as well as leading community outreach and empowerment. Over time, RBAC has developed programs catered to young adults from the Southend, providing year-round employment opportunities to a roster of 40 communitymembers and professional development to emerging leaders. Their efforts directly impact critical issues affecting the well-being of residents living in Rainier Beach and surrounding areas.
