Following two federal judicial clerkships -- in the Southern District of New York and then the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit -- I had the good fortune to learn from Cahill's outstanding litigators as an associate there for three years before relocating to California. At Calhill, I was on a team of lawyers that served as national coordinating counsel for a manufacturer of asbestos-containing fireproofing that had been sued in 150 cases around the country. I received excellent experience at an early stage of my career, with principal responsibility for the 13 cases in New York, which involved virtually every public school, other public buildings, bridges, tunnels, and numerous office buildings. It was at Cahill that I also began working on insurance coverage matters, where we represented a number of insurance carriers. Since leaving Cahill and moving west, I have represented policyholders, but participating in coverage litigation from the other side was provided invaluable experience.I made a number of lasting friends at Cahill with who I remain close today. What a great firm and a great experience.
