About David Seals

David Seals has recently retired after 40 years of working in the IT industry. Most recently, he was the IT Audit Group Manager for Chevron Corporate Finance, Internal Audit and has extensive IT management, technology strategy, and application deployment experience. He was responsible for leading the global internal IT Audit function in providing assurance and advisory services for applications, cybersecurity, information protection, and infrastructure controls for Chevron IT, worldwide. He also led several IT modernization efforts for Corporate Audit, helping to simplify, streamline, and automate global internal audit processes. Previously, David was responsible for Chevron’s Corporate Finance IT Department, Oronite Chemical Additives Plant and Facilities IT Operations, IT Technology Strategy Roadmap, ERP Strategy development, and the design of Chevron's Enterprise Mobility Strategy, including the deployment of iPhones & iPads. Prior to David’s return to Chevron, he spent 6 years in various senior level management positions at hi-tech software startup companies such as Commerce One, Velosel, and Certus. While at Commerce One (eProcurement), he was responsible for the development of the Supplier Adoption program and for the delivery of customer Education & Training. While at Velosel (Product Information Management software) and at Certus (Sarbanes-Oxley compliance software), David was responsible for building Customer Services, including Customer Support Help Desk and Training development.David spent the first 16 years of his career at Chevron, holding a variety of IT Management positions, including enterprise applications development, global operations support, and strategic technology planning. David has held various Chevron assignments in Audit, Finance, IT ERP (SAP, Ariba, Oracle JD Edwards), Manufacturing, Operations, and Procurement.David is a graduate of California State University, East Bay (Hayward) with an MBA in Finance and a Bachelor’s degree in MIS and Accounting. He also volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors for the Chevron Federal Credit Union. David is based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
