I am one of the firm's founding partners. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, the following year becoming a Certified Public Accountant. I then graduated from Northwestern University School of Law. I started out as an Assistant State's Attorney for Cook County where, in the AppeIlate Division, I appeared before the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts, then moving to the Felony Trial Division trying major criminal cases. I have been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Under Governor Richard B. Ogilvie, I served as a Division Head in the Illinois Bureau of Investigation and then as an Administrative Law Judge at the Illinois Commerce Commission. Under Governor Dan Walker I was appointed to head a major, multi-million dollar agency. I was legal counsel to the sheriffs in Cook, Lake and McHenry Counties.While a prosecutor, I had the opportunity to obtain unique tutoring in medicine by a world famous OB/GYN followed by having the primary responsibility for the defense of major medical malpractice litigation in the Chicago metropolitan area for a prominent, national insurance carrier.My most recent jury trials resulted in a record setting verdict of over $21 million dollars and another for $19.6 million. Settlements include $16.3 million, $16 million, $12 million, $9 million, $8 million and others of numerous amounts of $6.4 million and less. My most recent, a truck/bicycle accident in the amount of $5 million. I has been recognized for decades in the original Who's Who in American Law Registry, as one of Chicago's Super Lawyers and have an AV® Preeminent™ Rating from Martindale-Hubbell®.
