I am a dedicated education leader, currently serving within the Leadership Team at RAK Academy IPK. As the Phase Leader of Upper PYP and Science Curriculum Coordinator, I've spearheaded initiatives that transformed attainment levels. An achievement that is especially rewarding, due to working in a predominantly EAL learner environment.Boasting six years of experience with the British (national curriculum for England) intertwined with the IB Scope and Sequence, I also possess a Master's Degree in Writing, a Primary and Early Years (5-11) PGCE with English Specialism, Level 3 IB qualifications in Maths & Science, and a Diploma in Marketing. I'm soon to embark on the NPQSL programme, supplementing my extensive qualifications: middle leaders program certificate, advanced child safeguarding training, Concept Based Curriculum Instruction (CBCI) training, and Level 3 TEFL certificate.Throughout my educational journey, I've been deeply involved in curriculum development, particularly in English, Maths, and Science. This has been supplemented with policy formulation: from assessment frameworks to learning displays, marking, and feedback implementation. I've proudly supported deputy heads across two schools, ensuring the Programme of Inquiry is successfully aligned for IB evaluations. At my former school in Dubai, I championed the development of the math curriculum and its cohesive integration with the British National Curriculum, the IB PYP, and the Rising Stars Framework.Across both schools in the UAE, I have led or played a major part of the Grade 5 PYP Exhibition, overseen graduation ceremonies, school science fairs and worked with the student leadership team ensuring choice, voice and ownership. I firmly believe in promoting positive values, individuality, and cultivating a sense of pride and responsibility in students, ensuring they grow as responsible global citizens.Previously, I spent a decade mastering the intricacies of government-level statistics, marketing, PR and events. I liaised with media, courts, and politicians on pivotal topics. My government work portfolio exceeded a budget of £1m, and I have trained employees, managed international events, and authored pieces for the government website.Beyond my professional life, I am a published novelist and short story writer. Residing in Ras Al Khaimah for five years, I share my life with my wife, head of the EHS Psychology Service in RAK, and our rescue cat.Above all, I remain dedicated to hard work with an enduring passion for life-long learning.
