David Shafer is a Chairman Emeritus of the Georgia Republican Party. He is proficient in English. In 1992 there was only one Republican congressman in Georgia and the Republican Party had small minorities in both the Georgia House and Senate. David's leadership as Executive Director ensured my election to the Georgia PSC, Paul Coverdell's election to the U.S. Senate, three new GOP Congressmen and major gains in both the Georgia Senate and House. 1992 was the breakout year for the Georgia Republican Party and in my opinion it wouldn't have happened without David Shafer's leadership and hard work as Executive Director.
