From July- September I worked in the Recovery and Receiverships department at Grant Thornton. The main responsibilities for this position include: -Liasing with solicitors, sales agents and property managers-cash management. Chasing debtors and ensuring cash in place before paying creditors.-Preparing reports to be issued to the relevant bank on an appointment-Meeting with tenants of properties that have gone into receivership and agreeing terms of payment of rent.-Being able to work on a number of appoinments simultaneously ensuring that individual tasks are completed in order of priority.-Liasing with the Revenue commisioners in relation to Vat and Income tax enquiries-Being responsible for items to do with buildings under receivership such as organising and paying insurance and ensuring that all relevant rates and property taxes have been paid.-Reviewing the reports prepared and the other work carried out by more junior staff providing feedback on same.
