David Shiller is President of Lighting Solution Development, a national firm providing consulting and recruiting to advanced lighting manufacturers. The American Lighting Association awarded David the prestigious Pillar of the Industry Award, in 2013. David uses his more than two decades of thought leadership in the energy efficient lighting market to assist manufacturers with business development strategy & implementation, federal & state regulations, technical marketing services, recruiting, and new technology launches. He is also the publisher of LightNOW, the oldest online lighting industry trade publication, since January, 2022. David has been co-chairing the ALA's Engineering Committee since 2010.Prior to starting his consulting agency, David launched and grew MaxLite’s OEM sales of lamps and ballasts to fixture manufacturers, into a multi-million dollar division, in his five years with MaxLite. David made significant impacts as Product Manager for EPA’s ENERGY STAR program, including: Residential Light Fixtures, Ceiling Fans, and Vent Fans. David conceived and commercialized self-ballasted, GU24 lamps in the residential light fixture market with benefits to both consumers and the industry. GU24 lamps became the predominant light source in ENERGY STAR fixtures. David has worked on environmental issues from the non-profit, government, and private sectors for over 35 years. He holds a B.S. in Physics and an M.S. in Sustainable Systems - Built Environment.
