Hello! I am a Civil/Structural Engineer working for RGNext at the United States Army Garrison at Kwajalein Atoll (USAG-KA) in the Marshall Islands. At RGNext, I provide structural engineering and maintenance support to the ALTAIR radar on Roi-Namur Island. ALTAIR is a 150-foot tall steel and aluminum rotating radar structure located in a highly corrosive Pacific marine environment. Continuous maintenance and repairs to the structural, mechanical, and electrical components of ALTAIR, designed and performed by myself and the other members of my team, keep the radar running after over 50 years of service.I earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2020 and a M. Eng. in Structural Engineering in 2021 from the University of Notre Dame. I enjoy using my experience, education, and passion for resilient structural design to create sustainable coastal structures and infrastructure that benefits communities vulnerable to climate change-induced storms, flooding, and sea level rise. This passion is inspired by the threat that climate change presents to my home of Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands, where I am currently based. My interests in civil engineering extend beyond this, however, and I am constantly excited by a broad range of topics across the coastal engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, and environmental engineering fields, to name a few.
