I am a retired management consultant who was a globally recognised expert in knowledge management. Prior to that I held a wide variety of roles with Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) - product development, marketing, sales, strategic planning, new initiatives etc, Today I do a lot of voluntary work and am a trustee of two charities. One of my active roles is helping managers and professionals who are made redundant in mid- to late- career. In this I draw on my own experience of being made redundant at age 49 and setting up my own business.
