Leading a multi-disciplinary team of engineers integrating our On-Grid Robotic Pick solution into our automated warehouses.

At Ocado, we are a technology company building a world-leading robotic solution to support online grocery sales on a massive scale. Within the organisation, I lead a team responsible for deep-dive analysis of the Ocado Warehouse Distribution robot X/Y axis motion performance. We fault-find embedded software, electromechanical control systems, and backend control software, and combine individual fault diagnostics with system-wide performance analysis using a variety of big data platforms. I also plan and run training sessions where needed to build in-house knowledge of robot repair and data file analysis. Given the critical nature of our work, I also give regular presentations on our team's work to senior management, where we review the progress of on-going investigations and map out strategies for future work.

Working with a highly diverse international engineering team to deliver and maintain the world's largest automated open-channel irrigation systems. Involved in a wide variety of projects, including:- System architecture, integration, and electrical design. Control cabinet design, construction, testing and commissioning. Installation and configuration of serial, IP, and analogue comms links .- SCADA IP network design, configuration, and lockdown. Management of remote access for customer access and system maintenance- Automation system software design and development in both Ladder and embedded C.- Digital telemetry, including private licensed and unlicensed spectrum radio links, and IP links over public 3G/4G networks

• Accomplished end-to-end software design, from conception to deployment, working primarily with .NET, SQL Server 2000, and Windows Server 2003, as well as liaising with contractors and corporate business associates to analyze business requirements, negotiate technical design specifications and discuss contractual issues• Gained proven experience in multi-tiered application architecture, including the implementation of web services over SSL, creating solutions handling high-security data operating over a combination of internal and external networks• Identified and analyzed many of the companies’ extensive and considerably complex business rules, processes, and strategies for refinement and integration into software solutions• Worked full-time as acting National IT Manager, handling a large volume of support and maintenance duties in a busy and high demand work environment• Administered and maintained SAP clients and servers, resolved technical issues for SAP users, and authored reports extracting data from the company SAP database• Trained and supervised a full-time IT support staff member, including guidance in all aspects of technical support, such as Active Directory configuration, network fault diagnostics, SQL server usage and programming, and Crystal Reports.
