I am a Ph.D holder (Kenyan Citizen) in Agronomy and Certificate on Traditional Food Development using grain amaranth. I have conducted grain amaranth research and promoted grain amaranth for 30years (1985-2015), in Kenya, USA (1988), South Africa (2007), South Sudan (1999), Uganda (2001-2002), Zimbabwe (2003), Tanzania (2004), Rwanda and Congo (2011). Research programs included developing and grouping varieties with medicinal values for management of Cardiovascular diseases, HIV/AIDS, Diabetes, Obesity and Mal nutritional diseases in children and Elderly. other programs included grain amaranth varieties with high oil contents, high protein contents, palatable with smell and taste acceptable and high yielding varieties for food production. currently, i am working as a Research Director with Functional Foods and Amaranth Resource Center in Uganda.
