Hi, I’m Scott, a lifelong learner with expertise in leadership and product design. I have invested over 20 years in education, learning & development, and management. I am passionate about delivering impact through unforgettable experiences.My core competency lies in aligning vision + strategy + tactics to drive critical products and programs toward audacious goals. _________________________A few details about me:I was born and raised in GA but have lived and worked across the US. My “calling” to a career in education came as a high school sophomore, and secondary education was my focus in college. After university, I spent a decade as a classroom teacher and school administrator. During that time, I recognized the core needs of adolescent literacy and adult learning from my time as a teacher and leader. So, I invested in my own growth via graduate school and earn credentials in these areas.My family and I decided to make a huge move from the West coast back East, and I had the opportunity to work supporting struggling schools. After several years of this work, I joined the awesome Innovation team at AdvancED as a program designer. AdvancED eventually became Cognia, and I eventually grew to lead my own team of amazing developers as Vice President. In this work, I have added product design and roadmap development to my areas of interest and expertise.It has been nearly a decade since I joined the AdvancED/Cognia team, and now I am on the search for my next professional “home”, while at the same time working with colleagues and mentors on some amazing projects.My goal is to (eventually – a long time from today) retire into volunteer service and to see as much of the world as possible before my time is up.I currently live with my wife and children in Atlanta, GA, where I am an avid climber, traveler, and grower of things. Something I believe in is never taking oneself too seriously. Something cool that I have created outside of work is A Year Without (ask me about it). Though I do not think one is supposed to choose his own mantra, I did anyway, and mine is, “Nothing is; everything is becoming.”
