The primary role of the Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) is to support the educational goals of the University of Manitoba. They are responsible for the care and control of the residence premises, providing a safe and secure learning/living environment. It is the job of the Residence Life Coordinator to provide student tenants with crisis intervention, act as an emergency resource, provide routine house and resident activities, resolve disputes and behavioural problems, and provide policy enforcement. The Residence Life Coordinators play an integral role in the University community as a mentor and role model to the student body at large. They are responsible for the promotion of the residence community within the University.The Residence Life Coordinators are responsible for the day-to-day operation of all residences (approximately 1,200 students). With assistance from the Associate Director, Residence Life, they hire, train, and supervise the residence life staff (Senior Resident Advisors and Resident Advisors), serve as a resource to the student government, and are the primary disciplinary authority.The Residence Life Coordinators are responsible for the development and coordination of all programming aspects as they relate to residence life. They are directly responsible for the supervision of the Senior Resident Advisors and the Resident Advisors. The Residence Life Coordinators maintain regular office hours, perform related administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Director, Residence Life, and attend/participate in assigned committee work and projects.
