Project Manager
CurrentSenior Manufacturing Project EngineerManaged three separate relocation projects of aircraft production components (electrical/mechanical assemblies and fabrication products) from Bell Helicopter Fort Worth to Bell Helicopter Amarillo and an outside supplier. Teams were responsible for developing detailed project plans and managing the execution of each phase of the project. Product relocation projects required a thorough understanding of facilities layouts, equipment/tooling requirements, production specifications, product certification requirements, and raw material requirements. • Managed teams of up to 30 members from three different facilities that at times had conflicting priorities with team objectives and timings. • Chaired problem solving meetings, served as liaison between functional areas, directed the implementation of workaround plans and/or corrective actions and ensured implementation was in compliance with plans and policies.• Utilized data analysis skills to analyze and assess a list of 38,000 parts that were possible candidates for transitioning to other facilities. Primary tools used in Excel were pivot tables and vlookup functions.• Determined, summarized, and communicated to management the current project status and critical issues affecting project cost and schedule; utilized oral and PowerPoint skills.Chief Manufacturing Engineering and Tooling ProjectsDirected the efforts of thirteen project engineers that oversaw all phases of aircraft tooling, aircraft assembly instruction printing and release process, new tooling creation and tracking, Z Build New project (AH-1Z Cobra), engineering change incorporation, EVMS metric reporting, and engineering estimate requests.• Developed detailed Excel reporting programs utilizing pivot tables and pivot charts, look up tables, and macros that gave management clear visibility to the status of our critical processes.
