DRS is a contractor for DISH Network and I worked as a Satellite Technician and Installer as well as Sales for products that DISH sold such as wireless surround sound systems from Polk Audio, TV Mounts (installed), and surge protection devices. As an installer I had a company vehicle that I maintained and was in charge of my own inventory, such as tools and satellite equipment. I received my work orders for the day in the app and daily I would perform new installs for new customers which included determining the best location for the satellite DISH, the construction of the DISH and installation on a pole, side of a building or roof mount. I climbed through attics or underneath houses running coaxial cable to each room via the walls or floor. Setup the set top boxes, activated the devices, configured remote controls for each TV and trained the customers on how to use the service. At every stop I would demo the surround sound for each customer receiving commission on a successful sale. I was in charge of making my appointment times and if I was running behind I would have to alert my next customer ahead of time. We worked in rain or shine and in one day I would easily connect on average 20 new TV's to the service and repair multiple issues. In my time at DRS, I lead the company in sales on 2 separate occasions out of a total of 500 technicians.

I then drive out to many nursing homes in the state of Florida to deliver and set up these devices for the patients use. Hours vary (including weekends/nights) and overtime as well as on-call visits. I plan my route using various sources such as MapQuest and Google Maps, pick up the equipment and give the customers a receipt for the items. Afterwards I turn the equipment in. Took Computer Networking Infrastructure courseThis 4 month schooling touched on computer maintenance and repair. I learned how to set up a network in Windows and maintain it. I worked mostly with Cisco routers and Layer three switches. The military course was basically a CCNA course as our material was straight from Cisco’s books. When I was in the Florida Air National Guard I worked on satellites and computer systems at MacDill.

My duties included 2 weeks of security training involving proper techniques and protocols, C.P.R. training and becoming M16 and M9 qualified. On the job I worked up at the front gate of the base checking identification of persons entering and exiting the military base. I also patrolled the base and the flight line in a squad car protecting aircraft and other military facilities. I have dealt with dozens of DUI stops and assault cases. This was a seasonal job as I was filling in for the Security Forces Airman that normally worked at MacDill AFB that were at the time deployed elsewhere.
