It starts with our instructors. We hire teachers who love to teach. And more than just Spanish. Our instructors help students get comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. If you want to SPEAK a new language, you have to SPEAK it… We build lessons around the things people like to talk about — family, food, travel, pop culture, media, sports, etc… Our curriculum is conversation. We built technology to support teachers, not replace them. Our platform lets instructors track student progress, build personalized lessons, and pair students with learners at their level. We designed a flexible and convenient booking and payments system that puts students in control of their schedules and makes life easier.

During my decade-plus tenure at Civic, the agency grew into a cultural marketing powerhouse, developing large-scale integrated marketing and communications campaigns to top-tier brands, including Ford, HBO, Airbnb, Snap, CNN and NFL, among many others. Some responsibilities as an early employee and company leader included:Generating big ideas and creating long-term brand platforms designed to impact culture, build loyalty, stimulate word of mouth, drive employee engagement and generate client revenueLeading multiple accounts including HBO, Snap, FOX and CNN, responsible for driving revenue and overseeing a team of 10+ talented and creative individuals and outside vendors/agencies/partnersServing as Executive Producer for the agency’s largest and most challenging events and campaigns, at times overseeing teams of 100+, including internal agency staff and partner agency teams across multiple disciplinesBuilding and activating experiential and partnership marketing campaigns for clients; developing concept and creative, managing budget, leading events, utilizing grassroots outreach, and analyzing campaign results to determine ROISecuring and developing new biz through innovative pitches to current and prospective clients
