Designed and carried out various research projects related to the biology of selenium, under the supervision of Center Director/Scientist Gerald Combs Jr. My main research project investigated the influence of dietary selenium on the taxonomy and metabolism of mammalian gut microbiota. Other projects investigated the effects of selenium variables on primary immune and established cancer cell lines.

Worked under the direction/mentorship of Prof Nava Segev, continuing my dissertation research on the regulation of intracellular protein trafficking. My main project was to study structural and functional characteristics of TRAPP, a large modular complex which coordinates multiple trafficking steps, using yeast as a model system.
