Engineering Technician Senior
CurrentResponsible for the scheduling and conducting of all traffic counts within Fayette County. Create summary reports of these counts for numerous needs, including traffic calming measures, detection of traffic patterns, timing changes of intersection traffic signals, and for other division's requests for traffic information (especially Planning). Utilize ArcGIS and Pictometry in the management and spatial analysis of traffic counts throughout the Lexington-Fayette County urban area. Produce aerial imagery maps with ArcGIS for the execution of neighborhood traffic calming measures. Construct and manage databases of completed traffic counts and document methods used for data collection. Answer citizens' concerns regarding traffic issues at various sites around the county or by phone and email. Provide maintenance of Pictometry software for divisional staff. Supervised others in the installation of traffic counting equipment. Created Excel spreadsheet and ArcView atlas of all 792 snow emergency route signs on Fayette County snow emergency routes as part of snow route emergency sign project requested by the city's Public Works Commissioner. Developing on-going spatial database in ArcGIS of nearly 800 traffic counts completed between 2006 and the present, linking cartographic representation of each count with the actual traffic count data for division's traffic engineers.
