Helping building the New Mexico chapter for Techqueria, a 501(3)(c) nonprofit that supports Latiné in the tech industry. This is a volunteer-based role where I work alongside the local community and help cultivate the local tech scene here in NM.

Investigated the effects of changes in the skin’s microstructure from hydration levels and mechanical stretching on the rate of transport of drugs across the skin under the direction of Professor Nancy Lape, Ph.D. I participate on the team throughout the school year in addition to Summer 2014.• Investigated and responded to issues with Capillary Electrophoresis machine• Designed and experimented with alterations to solution extraction procedure• Trained and supervised two high school interns, along with several new members to the research team• Designed study involving TEWL within human subjects

Researched 3D robot localization under the direction of Professor Zachary Dodds, Ph.D. • Developed a system in which a robot can locate itself in a room and complete spatial reasoning tasks using only visual input from its camera using system of algorithms implemented in Python.• Designed an algorithm for a quad-copter to autonomously recognize its location along a coordinate axis and move to a specified location.• Successfully tested system using hardware (AR Parrot Drone 2.0)• Worked with team of 5 to develop several presentations and write a formal academic paper based on our findings
