David Herbst Email and Phone Number
I am a fervent believer in understanding the details and connections in the world around us. To that end, I am passionate about cybersecurity and critical infrastructure. Together, they underpin our country and affect our lives and livelihoods. Critical infrastructure has become, and cybersecurity always was, technology-focused. I embrace technical challenges, both large and small. From bomb disposal to intelligence analysis I have sought out the most difficult problems to solve. Throughout my professional life, I have equipped myself with extensive education and experiences in leadership and management, strategic and critical thought, and extensive cybersecurity tools and techniques to solve those problems. I am an advocate for organizational introspection and root-cause analyses of problems. I am a firm believer in achieving meaningful advancement by first knowing where we are collectively starting from and then plotting a course together toward a shared goal. I believe in goal setting, objective development, and team building to advance organizational priorities together as a team. I understand the critical interdependencies linking our lives, our critical infrastructure, and how cybersecurity affects them all. Through my intelligence career, I have gained insights into our adversaries’ intent and capabilities against our critical systems. As a result, I can relate risk to decisionmakers and recommend mitigations that improve the bottom line.
