Engaged to lead the IT function of the new Shared Staffing Arrangement (SSA) created by Richmond and Wandsworth Councils with an annual budget of £12M and 134 staff. Responsible for information security and governance including SSA wide ISO27001 certification, Public Sector Network (PSN) and N3 compliance and leading the consolidation of security practices across the two Councils.Managed the in-sourcing of IT services at Richmond CouncilLed a Digital Workplace programme designed to transform the way the organisation works and collaborates.Designed an infrastructure investment programme to consolidate the IT environments of both Councils.Lead for the implementation of GDPR

Engaged to design and lead the IT function of the new Shared Staffing Arrangement (SSA) created by Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. Developed and implemented a new IT structure delivering annual savings of £1M per annum. Engaged with senior stakeholders and developed a joint business focused IT strategy underpinned by digital service delivery and organisational ethos. Launched and led an IT change programme to deliver the services and infrastructure required to support the SSA.

Engaged to deliver cost effective and high-quality IT services for Wandsworth Council with a budget of £6M reporting to the Chief Executive/Director of Finance and led a team of 85 people. Responsible for development and implementation of Wandsworth Council’s IT strategy including delivery of a £2.6M IT investment and IT infrastructure refresh programme. Also, responsible for information security and governance including council wide ISO27001 certification, Public Sector Network (PSN) and N3 compliance.Delivered Customer Services strategy and a digital ‘online first’ customer services programme. Led the development and promotion of the council’s website which underpinned the ‘online first’ digital initiative. The website is now recognised as one of London’s best by an independent survey. Established a five-borough shared IT network, negotiated an inter-authority legal agreement and agreed a reciprocal disaster recovery process with Merton Council.Oversaw procurement and implementation of a new Human Resources and Payroll system subsequently taking ownership of HR and Payroll system team.Implemented a council wide e-learning system.Managed several EU procurements including on-street Wi-Fi, high speed broadband to council properties and a London wide framework for customer portals. The Wi-Fi deployment generated an additional £0.5M of council revenue.Achieved outstanding improvement in ‘Customer Satisfaction with IT’ results from a worst in London to best local authority in London and improved IT availability KPI from underperforming to achieving a target of 99.8%.

Engaged by the Chief executive to provide leadership to the stalled Customer Services Transformation Programme and day to day management of the customer services function including face to face customer interactions and the contact centre with a budget of £4M and a team of 80 people.As Business Change Manager responsible for re-invigorating the stalled Customer Services Transformation Programme and leading the customer services function through a period of rapid change.Re-planned and rescheduled the delivery of the Customer Services Transformation Programme managing internal resource and external suppliers to achieve key milestones and deliver benefits realisation.

Responsible for Data Protection and Freedom of Information activities and teams.
