A Vice Chair, Board & Advisory Board Member and CEO with over thirty years of executive and board level experience across the commercial, public and not for profit sectors with extensive experience in the construction, infrastructure, energy and resources industries. At board level highlights include: executive Board roles in Australia and the Middle East, Vice Chair of the National Generators Forum and as a Member of the Advisory Committee to the Board of the National Electricity Market Management Company. I also have experience as an Advisory Board Member with the Griffith University Business School as well as the Griffith Asia Institute.In an executive capacity I am the Principal of DNA (David Nelson Advisory) where I provide advice and strategies for growth and operational turnaround to companies within the construction, infrastructure and energy industries and to higher education institutions. Prior to this I was the Chief Executive Officer of the Al Jaber Group where I led the implementation of Board governance, the company strategic direction and performance of this multi-billion dollar, 45,000 employee, construction conglomerate. As Chief Executive of UGL Asia Pacific Services Division, I the led the provision of real estate and facilities management services to corporations, governments and institutions, with P&L responsibility for ANZ, Asia and the Middle East, with ~$1Bn in revenue. Previously I was the Chief Executive Officer of InterGen Australia where I led all aspects of InterGen Australia’s business with an asset base of power stations,coal mining and related infrastructure of over A$2.5Bn. Prior to these roles, I spent 2 years on the management team of InterGen’s Asia Pacific head office in Hong Kong and before that, 7 years in Shell International’s office in London.Finally, I have an Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering and have completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors course.
