As a Product Owner, I am first and foremost seeking to accurately estimate, communicate, and adhere to our deadlines. At the end of the day, my goal is to produce and maintain a function that makes our stakeholder’s lives better.As a Manager, I am striving to create an environment where my team can thrive. I consider culture to be paramount to the success of a company and believe working to improve my employee’s and coworker’s lives leads to increased productivity and instills pride. In my current position, these priorities are always at the forefront of my mind. I started at AHRI just under 5 years ago as first an Associate, then Senior Certification Engineer. After about 2 years in the Sector Services Department, I embraced the opportunity to switch departments into a managerial role. I have enjoyed getting to work with the Data Services team and take on new challenges as Manager of Regulatory Reporting Compliance. As a “fixer” I relish looking at current processes to determine how they can better serve our team. I am passionate about improving workflows to create efficiencies and improving internal and external communication. I firmly believe that better communication can result in huge strides forward in progress and lead to more trust in our team from our stakeholders. Some of my proudest accomplishments are based on these core beliefs. As a Certification Engineer, I created an Excel tool to expedite our selection and scheduling process which increased collaboration on our team and reduced the amount of maintenance and hand-offs required to manage AHRI programs. In my current position, I have leveraged cross-team coordination to foundationally change how we operate as a reporting body and prioritize proactivity over reactivity. These changes have refocused the regulatory reporting department, allowing us to successfully deliver a 200% increase in output without increasing personnel resources. Throughout my career I’ve gained experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud Computing, Agile Development, Project and Program Management, Staff Management, Regulation Interpretation, and various task based programs such as Trello and Product Plan. As a remote employee I’ve become proficient in various communication software like Teams and Ring Central. Outside of work I enjoy getting to travel with my wife and dog, love to host friends and family for dinner, and like to keep my hands busy with creative pursuits like woodworking and photography.
