Recently, I was the Interim Chief Executive Officer of The Samaritan Center in Elkhart. As CEO, I oversaw the Elkhart location of the organization as well as the Goshen, Dunlap and Wakarusa offices.The founders of the Center took this non-profit model of service, and spread their vision to more than 400 other communities throughout the country. There are even offices in Japan. The counselors represented several disciplines including clinical psychology, social work, family medicine and pastoral counseling. My task was to raise the Center’s visibility in the community and guide more people to the Center’s counseling and psychotherapy services.Tenure Highlights:In less than six months I was able to accomplish; • Developed a strategic plan to propel growth and increase sustainability that may reasonably become a “game changer” for most of the centers across the country;• Improved collected revenues by 11.1%;• Increased revenues from insurance reimbursements by 16.9%, the highest in over 27 months;• Recruited an experienced, dynamic, methodical Clinical Director.

Established a company that catered exclusively to small to mid size Telephone Companies, providing a full range of long distance services. Oversaw P&L, sales, marketing and overall direction of the company. Built a management team from one employee to an office of five.Tenure Highlights:•Developed a customer care department that received high marks from customers and vendors.•Built an ad-hoc in house billing system with assured accuracy up to 99.997%•Uncovered and enhanced the unique strengths and skill sets of each individual through timely feedback, mentoring, skills training, and prioritization of goals•Achieved a $2,000,000 line of credit allowing for the purchase of telecommunications equipment and the co-location of equipment in two states.

Launch local phone companies into competitive long distance marketplace, to sell their own label service offerings to their customers which helped to enlarge customer base, reduced turnover and increases revenue growth.Tenure Highlights:•Negotiated all agreements with Toll Providers on phone company behalf & helped decrease rates by 14.7% to 31.2% over the length of contracts.•Increased service plans penetration by 23.4% of phone company market base.•Prepared strategic plan that advised how best to hold onto customers by 12.1% over industry norm

First CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) in Indiana wholly owned and operated by ILECs. Researched opportunity; created and marketed vision, raising $1,250,000 for venture. Established strategic business plan which resulted in securing 5,000 new customers in less than three months.Tenure Highlights:•Increased retention by 41.3% and amplified sales by 21.6% through empowering work force to collaborate with corporate goals.•Utilized a marketing company to add structure and expertise to marketing philosophy; thus securing 5,000 new customers in first 3 months that generated an average of $34.78 per account. •Significantly reduced internal billing cost by 44.6% with the implementation of the new billing and collection system and developing corresponding procedures.

Tenure Highlights: •Charged to focus on winning back former customers, eventually retrieved 70% of lost accounts.•Growth rate for new accounts exceeded 50% in 1996.•Focused marketing effort on new accounts in historically low production areas.•Achieved #1 ranking in Indiana for year; along with incentive awards and prestigious SVP Performance Award.•Analyzed reasons accounts were lost to other carriers, addressing company desire to reacquire customers.
