David was one of the co-founders of Theatrely, and served as CFO. Evolving from a popular radio show in Boston, MA, Theatrely is a fresh look at features, news, reviews, and interviews of theatre across the globe, from Broadway to the West End and everywhere in between. In the theatre journalism landscape, Theatrely is a one-stop shop for the latest information in arts and culture, with an emphasis on telling the untold stories and uplifting the unheard voices. David helped grow the company and shepherd it into an acquisition. Today, Theatrely continues to grow as an internationally recognized brand, whose pull-quotes can be spotted on marquees everywhere.

As a co-founder of podcast production house Super Normal Media, David constructed the legal and business foundations of the company. Super Normal Media is a podcast company that focuses on audacious, attention-grabbing, and off-the-wall stories. The company specializes in developing, producing, and releasing cinematic narrative podcasts – usually high-concept comedies (often featuring original music and lyrics), and always easily translatable to film, television, animation, and other media.Before leaving to focus on other ventures, David created lasting structures that continue to enable the acquisition, development, leveraging, and multi-platform exploitation of innovative IP.

As captain of the Columbia University Sailing Club, David oversaw all club operations and managed a budget of over $75,000 a year. Under his leadership the group experienced 300% growth in membership, a direct result of David's creation of a financial aid program that continues to ensure that the club is accessible to - and inclusive of - all students at Columbia.

As a research associate for Viking, David analyzed market movements and local climates where projects were planned. He created materials for lenders, investors, and project managers. He also created and analyzed financial models for a variety of projects.

Koolik and Treatman Theatricals is a partnership between Alan Koolik and David Treatman. The two met in a rehearsal at Columbia University. David has the business sense and proven experience to create successful strategies and viable ventures, and Alan is a master of theater analytics with years of exposure to the industry. Together, they channel these abilities to pursue their shared passion: theater. Alan and David are committed to developing and investing in new and unique theater. As associate producer of AF Creative Media, David oversaw the development of new projects for the stage. When the company co-produced the TONY Award-winning revival of Angels in America on Broadway, David played a key part in raising funds for the production and handling investor relations.
