Group Marketing Director / CmoUnit4 Mar 2008 - Dec 2014UNIT4 is a global business software group, Europe's 2nd largest ERP developer and the 6th largest supplier of ERP to the mid-market. The Group is PE owned and headquartered in the Netherlands.I headed up the Global Marketing function of 60+ heads across 26 countries, reporting to the Group Executive Board. My role covered brand development, marketing strategy and marketing execution for all UNIT4 operations globally, as well as branding, messaging, investor relations, PR and communications across the groupI was responsible for conceiving, driving and executing the complete rebrand of the group in 2010, rolling out the single UNIT4 brand across a group which had previously comprised more than 40 different brands. As always with rebranding it took considerable persuasion, diplomacy, creativity and drive to persuade the board, then the management and staff worldwide, and keep them onside during the process. The outcome was a huge success, resulting immediately in Unit4 being listed on the Gartner ERP Magic Quadrant as the 6th biggest player in the world. The rebrand underpinned much of the Group's later success.I also led the strategic marketing of our pure Cloud start-up CODA2go (which I was was responsible for creating - see previous job entry at Coda), including rebranding it to FinancialForce.com. Still part-owned by Unit4, it recently rebranded to Certinia.
