I have worked on various projects for a number of clients including VTG, Wabtec Faiveley, Freightliner, ESG, TUV Rheinland, Angel Trains, DB Cargo, VivaRail, Yellow Rail, W H Davis, Nacco, Lloyd's Register (now Ricardo Rail).Approval Documents for a new wagon builds for VTGCreation of approval documents for the technical file of new builds of wagons for VTG, including documentation against standards and for compliance with the CSM regulations. Liaison with NoBo, DeBo and AsBo to achieve certification, NRAP to achieve compatibility, registration with RSL, and submission of the technical file to the ORR to achieve authorisation.Engineering Change Documents for various Design Changes for VTGSet up an improved process for managing Engineering Changes for VTG and carried this through for a number of design changes. This addresses all issues that need to be considered by the ECM for an Engineering Change.Engineering Change Documents for various Maintenance Changes for VTGCarried out detailed risk assessments to justify changes to maintenance periodicities. Used the risk assessment work as a key part of the justification for the Engineering Change.Class 321 Renatus Refurbishment Project for WabtecThe project was for Eversholt Rail to carry out a significant refurbishment to their Class 321 units. I was involved in a large number of activities as follows:• Creation of the top level approval documents and setting up of the approval process for the project• Ongoing development to close out of the CSM RA documents for the project, including the main hazard log and safety requirements log• Creation, development and close out of a detailed risk assessment for the effect of the weight increase on the brake system• Technical input and creation of documents relating to a number of technical issues such as braking, gauging, mass management, mass implications, structural analysis, interior crashworthiness, etc.
