I have enjoyed a wide variety of interesting and challenging roles during my tenure at HSBC:- designed and implemented a data quality solution and operating model for financial crime globally, acknowledged by internal and external authorities as 'industry leading', using big data technology- currently Global Head of Data Quality for the Financial Crime Risk- leading the global, group-wide data quality strategy, design, architecture and implementation- led the introduction of global data standards in the financial crime and compliance area- set up and ran a global team to introduce standard data definitions across the bank- developed segments of the bank-wide business data concept model- cross-functional and international data lineage

Responsible for data architecture, working on global risk management programme, including all pillars of Europe-wide Solvency II. Leading data definition, data governance, and data quality management. Setting architecture vision and leading production of associated blueprints and roadmap. Responsible for liaising with global IT strategy and leading architecture teams within SII programme. - Advised AIG on regulatory requirements concerning data and systems. Developed the data and applications strategy and architecture road-maps to fulfill the data and systems aspects of Solvency II (including data definition; acquisition, transport & storage; governance; quality). - Authored the data governance framework and data policy, and related standards and procedures. Liaised with senior executives to embed data governance within the organisation. - Led a team that designed a data quality control framework and performance management solution, building on existing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOx) controls, which was successfully implemented across Europe. Led the design and development of a data quality management system. - Led and managed a technical team that developed and implemented data definitions and models, and a central data warehouse-type repository, for Solvency II data. - Responsible for liaising with global IT strategy and architecture teams across the enterprise globally. - Introduced IBM Infosphere data management tools and built a technical data centre-of-excellence team for AIG.

Short consulting engagement to lead business change workshops in Europe as part of the rollout of new insurance underwriting and accounting systems across Ace Europe. Identify requirements, map requirements to system capabilities, gap analysis and recommend business and system changes where necessary.

I was a founding member of QBE’s enterprise architecture team, and led the introduction of TOGAF procedures and artifacts. I was responsible for QBE’s Business Architecture, and developed high-level as-is and target architectures for several high-profile business initiatives.

Led a team to implement a new general insurance system (GENIUS) across all of QBE's general insurance business units. Led test team on QBE's first-ever online internet product: (selling trade credit). Responsible for test strategy, team management, quality control of test scripting/execution, and problem resolution.

I worked as an IT consultant to insurance companies including Brit Insurance, Westminster Motor Insurance, Faraday Insurance, Wellington Insurance, and XL Mid Ocean.

I was the Head of IT for Europe & Asia, working at international reinsurance company. As Head, I responsible for IT outside North America, including London, Madrid and Sydney.

Developed a Claims Reinsurance System, responsible for client liaison (Walsham Brothers).

Developed several RI systems: Claims Model (including XL recoveries), LIMNET EDI system, RITC system. Also participated in Lloyd’s-of-London development (especially Syndicate Claims Message team).

Having been contracted (in 1986) by Honeywell Bull to work on AH’s broking system as a programmer, I subsequently joined AH and eventually led a technical team of six analysts and programmers to further develop and support the system.
